New York employers must pay $7.25 per hour for work. There are very few exceptions
to this rule:
Tipped and Service Employees - these employees can earn $4.60 per hour, as long
as they earn an additional $2.55 per hour in tips. There are specific rules that regulate "tip sharing" and therefore each case must be analyzed differently.
